It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field (village rank).

The arms are Or a fess wavy Vair of three fesses and in chief a book Argent bound Gules charged over all with a sword Gules hilted Sable set in fess, in base a cork oak Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VEIROS - ESTARREJA".
Meaning:
"Veiros" is Portuguese for "vair", the heraldic fur, and, although the exact etym of this toponym is unrelated, the creator of these arms felt the need to make them canting by use of the fess vair.

Presentation of Veiros

Veiros Commune was until 2013 one of the communes of Estarreja Municipality (q.v.); it had 2618 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 11,21 km².
