A Spanish company share offered by Boone Scripophily in October 2009 concerned Naviera Guadalquivir. (As the contents this url leads to will certainly disappear it would be preferable to link to the homepage.) Offer no. 1142, date of issue 8 Apr 1920. Comments: “SPAIN SEVILLA. Accion de 500 Pts. multicolour. No 13750. Square format, with a design of mermaids with wings - something new to us! Shows the flag of the shipping line, anchor, etc.” Seville, of course, is on the River Guadalquivir.

From sparse sources on the 'net we learn that in 1920 (perhaps starting out) this shipping company bought 'Adelina' (former owner Serra) renamed 'Guadalquivir' and two years later 'Black Prince' (former owner Prince Line) renamed 'Guardario'; that a route existed to Montevideo and Buenos Aires via the Canary Islands, apparently for the transportation of mixed cargo); and that in 1927 (perhaps winding up) above ship was sold.

Description

Flag: blue field, canton horizontally divided yellow-red-yellow. This is no discovery of mine as you will realize when checking out Aingeru Astui Zarraga's house flag site (about 2/3 down).

This page (in Spanish) defines, somewhat loosely, the house flag's canton as the Spanish flag with colours reversed. Perhaps relevant in this context, Seville Maritime Province's flag was yellow and red.
