Description of the flag

Del Mar College (DMC), located in Corpus Christi (Texas), was founded in 1935. The college enrolls some 21,000 students each year. The flag of DMC was hoisted on 27 July 2010 over the new Del Mar College Northwest Center, as shown on a photo: www.caller.com/photos/galleries/2010/jul/28/northwest-center/35890. The flag is dark blue with the seal of the College in the middle. The seal is prescribed in the Del Mar College Manual of Policies and Procedures as follows:
"Chapter II
Administrative Organization
[...]
B2.2 Official Name/Seal of the College: Del Mar College District is the legal name of the community college district. Del Mar College, the College, the College District, the District, Del Mar, DMC, and DMCD are all synonymous terms meaning the educational institution administered by the Del Mar College District. The official seal of the College is a registered wordmark that is reserved and legally protected for exclusive use by the institution. The seal carries the wording "Del Mar College District, Corpus Christi, Texas" around the perimeter of the circle, with the interlocking DMC symbol in the center."

The seal of DMC was slightly modified in 2005.

The Policy Review Committee meeting of the Board of Regents of the Del Mar College District 13 December 2005
"[...]
Dr. Carlos Garcia explained that the question is whether to alter the College seal to eliminate "Corpus Christi, Texas" and/or add the founding year. Ms. Jackson suggested that the seal indicates, but does not limit, the location of the College. Following discussion, Mr. Chriss made a motion, seconded by Ms. Gonzales, to recommend leaving the several as it exists, but to have College staff develop designs to include the founding date ("Est. 1935") for the Board’s consideration. The motion passed unanimously.

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Regents of the Del Mar College District 13 December 2005
"[...]
