There's an official New York State September 11th Memorial Flag, which was unveiled for the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. The flag www.governor.ny.gov/...911flag.jpg?1315347563 was unveiled by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo. The flag will be raised in honor of the victims of 9/11 and the countless first responders who came from all across the nation to help in the clean-up and recovery efforts. For the 10th anniversary, the flag will be flown at the State Capitol and at the entrance to the memorial at the WorldTrade Center site. The symbols on the flag evoke what was lost on 9/11 and what still endures. The 40 yellow stars represent the fatalities from United Flight 93, which crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The five-sided figures represent the Pentagon, where 125 people died. At the center of the flag are the Twin Towers, where the greatest loss of life occurred that day.
