No Flag

The Office of the City Clerk informs me that while the City of Charleston has no official municipal flag, and only the S&S and the Illinois state flag are flown in front of public buildings, such is the identification of the people of Charleston with Eastern Illinois University that the Panther Flag is often flown unofficially by stores, offices, and private homes, even by individuals and organizations which have no official connection to the university.
