It is a fairly typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow background (village rank).

The arms are Vert an oven peel Argent set in fess and pointing upwards flanked at dexter by a bundle of three wheat ears Or tied at their stems and sinister on a grape leave Or a bunch of grapes Purpure and in chief fire flames Or cored Gules. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "NAVE - SABUGAL".

Nave Commune is one of the 31 communes of the Sabugal Municipality (q.v.); it had 273 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 19,78 km².
