Nazaré Commune is one of the three communes of the
synonym municipality; it had 10 080 inhabitants
in 2001 and covers 40,68 km². The ship

small ocean fishing vessels; the zigzag bend may refer to the local
cliffs, which are fitted with a funicular linking the strand town to the
marian shrine located on a cliff summit; rock carved steps may exist.
