The arms are Argent a tower Azure between two pairs of crossed swords Gules set in saltire and pointing upwards, in chief a cross fleury Vert of the Avis Order and an one-arch bridge Purpure issuant. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FRONTEIRA".
Meaning:
The coat of arms shows local landmarks and historical connections.

Fronteira Commune is one of the three communes of the synonym municipality (q.v.). TThe commune had 2260 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 138,16 km².
