Shield Argent, a grapevine with two branches Vert fruited Purpure in four bunches,in chief a sun Gules, in base three billets Sable ordered 2:1. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "LIGARES".

Ligares Commune is one of the four communes of Freixo de Espada à Cinta Municipality (q.v.); it had 520 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 46,91 km².
