Rendufe Commune is one of the 16 communes of Amares Municipality (q.v.); it had 1126 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 3,00 km². This is one of three communes of the same name in Portugal (recently we had here the diminutive, Rendufinho); the sequence "ufe" is uncommon in Portuguese, and there are 12 communes (among 4261) including it.
