It is a fairly typical portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centered on a blue background. Flag and arms adopted and published in the official journal Diário da República : III Série in 1996.07.10.

The arms are Or a barrel Gules ringed Argend between two seahorses Vert respectant and in chief a lire Purpure and in campaign a fess wavy Azure charged with a fess wavy Argent. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "Samouco — Alcochete". Original blazon:

Escudo de ouro, uma pipa de vermelho com aros de prata, entre dois hipocampos de verde, em cortesia; em chefe, uma lira de púrpura e, em ponta, três faixetas ondeadas de azul e prata. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas: "SAMOUCO — ALCOCHETE".

The arms are Vert a three-arch gateway Argent tiled Azure and topped by a latin cross Or and in campaign a plough Or. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "S. Francisco — Alcochete". Original blazon:

Escudo de verde, portal de três arcos de prata, azulejado de azul, rematado por uma cruz de ouro; em ponta, um arado de ouro. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas: "S. FRANCISCO — ALCOCHETE".

The arms are Gules issuant from a base wavy Argent chared with three barrulets wavy Azure a pillory Argent topped with an armillary sphere Or and between two salt pyramids Argent. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "Freguesia de Alcochete". Original blazon:

Escudo de vermelho, um pelourinho de prata rematado por uma esfera armilar de ouro, ladeado por dois montes de sal de prata; ponta ondeada de prata e azul. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas: "FREGUESIA DE ALCOCHETE".
