Jondal municipality is situated in Hordaland county.
The flag flown by the municipality of Jondal, three yellow boathooks extending diagonally
upwards from the lower fly on a field of red, symbolises the importance of the boat to
the community. It is not only a means of communication, but also important for the industries
of the municipality. Jondal has traditions in boat building, and the skills of making wooden
boats are kept in high regard. The flag of Jondal was designed by Arvid Sveen and officially
approved by Royal resolution 27 November 1987.
