Presentation of Slatina

The Town of Slatina (13,686 inhabitants in 2001, 10,208 in the town of Slatina) was known until 1997 as Podravska Slatina.

Flag of Slatina

The symbols of Slatina were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, yellow with the coat of arms in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure, a mullet of eight ar above a moon increscent".
It is based on the design published in the Laszowski Coffee Hag Album of the 1930s Grbovi Jugoslavije [lsv39], which is in turn based on the civic seal from around 1860, colored by Laszowski.

The Town's website shows several artistic rendering of the coat of arms with smaller or greater differences, especially noticeable regarding the drawing of the crescent and its face. This is however, the usual heraldic practice. Some of the variations I have seen used on the flag as well, notably such there the black outlines of the coat of arms and its elements are missing, and where therefore the moon face is differently stylized. Again, such variations are very minor.
