Presentation of Solin

Solin is located just due north of Split. It was the older town in the Roman times from which Split eventually evolved after its destruction.
The municipalities of Split, Solin and Kaštela formed until 1993 the Civic Assembly of the Municipalities of Split (Gradska zajednica općina Split).

Solin uses an unheraldical emblem that they insist on calling a coat of arms; however the Ministry objects to it.
The emblem consists of a light blue oval shield including the name of the town, a rising sun, a cross, a construction scheme of the church and the Croatian checky fields.
The emblem must have been designed by Zlatko Badovinac, an architect from Split.
