The symbols of Hercegovac are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Hercegovac, adopted on 13 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and publihsed in 2009 in the municipal official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Hercegovac.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, dark green with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Vert a potato flower argent seeded or".
A similar design is seen on the coat of arms of Belica.
