The flag of the Royal Gibraltar Police is plain blue with the badge of the service charged at the centre. The badge of the service has the title of the service, "Royal Gibraltar Police", encircling the arms of Gibraltar all on a silver starburst and surmounted with the St. Edward's crown. Badge used to prepare the flag image taken from the cover of Royal Gibraltar Police Annual Report 2005-2006.
Silver(?) cords and tassels are attached to a flag used for parade purposes. Parade flag seen on page 14 of the Annual Report for 2005-2006.
The police service was conferred the "Royal" prefix on 12th June 1992. I believe the badge is the second in the history of the Gibraltar police; the date of adoption I'm unsure of at the moment. See http://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/judiciary/police_index.htm for a brief history of the service.
