This Godless Communism was an American anti-Red-propaganda comic from the 1960s.
The pamphlet poses the question "What if the US were
conquered by the communists?" then answers it. ("It would't be much
fun"). It also features a foreword delivered by the cartoon likeness of
J. Edgar Hoover. A sprinkling of theological language throughout and an afterword by a
priest seem to suggest a considerable degree of involvement by the
Catholic church.

As seen at Boing Boing, this
is an alternate-universe US flag — or, more accurately, USSA flag, for
Union of Soviet States of America. The design is very similar to that used in the 1980s
miniseries Amerika, though more generic — pretty
much just the upper hoist portion of the Soviet flag, rearranged, blown
up and imported into the US canton. The two-tone red of the stripes
and canton is a nice effect, though.
