Presentation of Sangarcía

The municipality of Sangarcía (429 inhabitants in 2009; 3,752 ha) is located in the west of Segovia Province.

Symbols of Sangarcía

The flag and arms of Sangarcía are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 14 April 1998 by the Municipal Council, signed on 15 April 2002 by the Mayor, and published on 10 May 2002 in the official gazette of Castile and León, No. 88, pp. 6,252-6,253 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1, tierced at hoist red and at fly blue, the division charged with a vase with lilies of which emerges an arm armed with a sword, all white.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Azure a vase of lilies an arm issuant armed with a sword all argent, 2. Gules a two-staged aqueduct argent masoned sable over ten rocks argent [The Segovia Roman aqueduct]. The shield surmonted with a Royal Spanish crown.
