Symbols of Urdiales del Páramo

The flag and arms of Urdiales del Páramo are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 21 February 2002 by the Municipal Council, signed on 5 March 2002 by the Mayor, and published on 16 October 2002 in the official gazette of Castile and León, No. 201, pp. 13,513-13,514 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag with proportions 2:3, made of five horizontal stripes with proportions 1:2, 1:8, 1:8, 1:8 and 1:8, from top to bottom red, white, blue, white and blue.
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Gules three garbs of spikes or per fess, 2. Argent two fesses wavy azure. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.

The flag is therefore a simplification of the coat of arms - spikes dropped and waves made rectilinear.
