Presentation of Quintanavides

The municipality of Quintanavides (106 inhabitants in 2010; 1,167 ha) is located in the center-east of Burgos Province, 30 km of Burgos.
Quintanavides was mentioned for the first time in 1033, as Quintana de Donvides, in a document of the San Salvador de Oña monastery.

Symbols of Quintanavides

The flag and arms of Quintanavides are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 11 March 1999 by the Burgos Provincial Government, signed on 29 March 1999 by the President of the Government, and published on 12 April 1999 in the official gazette of Castile and León, No. 67, p. 3,884 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Castilian flag, outlined in vert the main field gules. In the middle a two-panned pair of scales or crossed by two spikes vert.
Coat of arms: Gules a two-panned pair of scales or crossed by two spikes vert passant argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
